Fatal Crash on Southern Avenue in Southeast D.C.
Washington, D.C Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a fatal crash involving a stolen vehicle near Southern Avenue and Reed Terrace in the early morning hours Tuesday. Emergency crews rescued two individuals from a vehicle on the scene, transporting one in serious condition to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police also found a weapon on the scene, though it is unclear what type of weapon.
The crash shut down portions of Southern Avenue between Bowen Road and Benning Road so that police could investigate and clear the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
