Car accidents involving multiple vehicles are one of the most dangerous types of collisions and often result in catastrophic, life-altering injuries. Multi-vehicle accidents are typically caused by one driver crashing into another, setting off a chain reaction with nearby motorists unable to avoid the collision.
Occupants are often subjected to multiple blows as additional cars become involved, increasing the number and severity of the injuries. Depending on the number of vehicles involved and resulting fires or spilled hazardous materials, emergency medical care can be delayed until crews can create access to reach and extricate the injured. Fatalities are common in multi-vehicle accidents.
